Dunsborough Junior Soccer Club Online

Dunsborough Junior Soccer Club caters for boys and girls from the surrounding area, living or attending school in Dunsborough, Yallingup, Eagle Bay, Qunidalup and surrounding districts.

We encourage all players to play to their full potential and offer great training and support to enable all children and youth to get the most from junior soccer. We play in the Leeuwin Naturaliste Junior Soccer Association against teams from Busselton, Vasse, Margaret River, Nannup and Capel. New players are always welcome.

We are sponsored by: Big Me Internet - Web Design & Hosting. Please remember to support our sponsors – they support our kids in the game they love.

The Dunsborough Junior Soccer Club consists of teams from all age groups from 5 – 17 for boys and girls. In 2007 we had just under 200 players. The club is run by a hard working group of volunteer committee members, coaches and officials and supported by the Naturaliste Sporting Club.

All home games are played on Dunsborough Lakes Playing Fields. Away games usually take place at Churchill Park, Busselton, but we also play away to Margaret River. Our club boasts impressive facilities of juniors with a policy of each team having at least one ball per player for training and also quality, dedicated coaches and administrators.

With strong and effective links with the senior club we hope to instill a passion for the game that will stay with them through long and rewarding playing careers. Go Dunsborough!!!

FIFA

Once players reach Under 11s, all teams compete in full FIFA regulation games. This means eleven players on the ground in designated positions on a full sized pitch (the same pitch our seniors use). FIFA rules are in force including offside with the addition of rotating substitutions and mixed gender teams.

Dunsborough Fields teams in the competitions run by the Leeuwin Naturaliste Junior Soccer Association: Under 11, Under 12, Under 14 mixed competitions as well as the Premier Youth Competition in the South West: Youth League Boys and Youth League Girls. These leagues consist of a home and away season as well as a league cup.

RooBall

RooballRooball is soccer played by younger children on smaller fields under modified rules. Dunsborough Junior Soccer Club fields mixed teams from Under 6 to Under 10, and organises a competition for all of our players. In Rooball, maximum emphasis is to be placed on having fun, playing fairly, and playing as well as is reasonable for the age group and skill level, with minimum emphasis on winning.

While Rooball teams are encouraged to give their best and play with ‘winning’ enthusiasm, it is essential to remember that results are NOT recorded and there is no premiership table. This is to avoid Rooball players getting the impression that winning is more important than playing.

Small Sided Games

Small Sided GamesIn 2008, FFA in conjunction with Member Federations, Zones Associations and Clubs will be rolling out Small-Sided Games (SSG). This rollout will be staged commencing primarily with the younger age groups moving through the ages in 2009 and beyond.

SSG have been extremely well received and supported by Member Federations, Zones, Associations and Clubs. The feedback for the smaller fields and reduced playing numbers with an emphasis on player development has been very positive, Clubs and parents see the end result that buy touching the ball more the children will become better players and enjoy the experience much more.

Coaching

Our coaches are our greatest asset. It is through their passion, patience and skill that the talent of our youth is fostered and developed. With an emphasis on quality training, Dunsborough Junior Soccer Club aims to provide a valuable sporting and social experience for all our players and develop talented players. One of the real trends taking place in world soccer now is a renewed focus on developing technical skills. The ability to run at a defender and beat him off the dribble will cause all kinds of chaos for the defense. Unfortunately, most youth soccer teams put misplaced focus on team tactics -  8 year olds don't need to learn tactics, they need to master the fundamentals of dribbling, passing and shooting.
